i'm only {almost} a week late....

oh friends, it's been five days since amelia's first christmas and i have yet to share pictures of that adorable little girl opening gifts and just being... well, overwhelmed.  because, in fact, she was overwhelmed.  that poor girl, she had no idea what she was waking up to.  after a month of hearing "no!" every time she went near the tree or the brightly colored wrapped gifts, we were finally encouraging her to tear open these boxes!  that will confuse any ten month old....

oh my gosh.  ten months old.  {my heart breaks into a million pieces}

i had the best of intentions of bringing you a photo-ridden post of christmas yesterday, but i got so!excited! about my tiffin {oh you missed that post?  shame on you!!} and kind of loaded the blog up with stainless steel glory captured by my wee ol' point and shoot.  so i gave your eyes a small break and i hope you are ready for some adorableness now.  let christmas begin!

{oh my gravy - these are two adorable snapshots.... *die from cuteness*}

{amelia's first cell phone!!!! she still wants ours.... toys are overrated}

{oregon ducks wrapping paper from memaw and grandpa jim}

{what's this?! another gift??}

{look! mommy got me a dog toy teething ball that squeaks! (it squeaks?!)}

{daddy putting together this very loud fun musical centers table}

{a hippo walker/rider!! so cute, but not quite ready for it....}

amel really made out well for her first christmas.  in fact, we've had to purchase a "toy shelf" for our living room just to stay organzied.  sad, isn't it?  she has three cubes of the shelf filled with books, four cubes with big toys, and two cubes of little toys stashed in these two adorable fabric baskets that caleb picked out from target....

how cute are those??? and see the mesh mouth? yeah, that pushes open for a quick toy grab.  would it be absolutely ridiculous to get one of these awesome baskets for myself?

despite all of the awesome new toys and books gifted to amelia, she decided to play with the swiffer duster all day.  and as a clarification.... she was not given a swiffer duster as a gift, nor was i.  it just happened to be out due to all of the post-christmas cleaning i was doing.  that is, until a certain someone took it to play with..... she's good now though, loving all the new musical toys, chewable books, and plush stuffed toys.

i hope your christmas was merry and bright.... and you have a fun and {safe} new year's!!

  1. Too cute! We actually went to Target yesterday and saw those bins. Jacob has a shark one now. I couldn't pass it up since the theme of his room is an ocean one. It has fins and everything lol. Made my day!
