perseverance....

{pur-suh-veer-uhns}
–noun
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc.,
esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement

perseverance is one of the strongest human attributes, yet it is one of the hardest to cling to during troubling times.  other's will find it easy to impart unsolicited advice upon you during these times, and it's difficult to accept their "food for thought" rather than become bitter and angry, feeling as if you are the only person to experience such trials.  the phrase "hindsight's 20/20" comes to mind, because once the difficulty has passed you by, you realize that you made it, you survived, and inevitably - yes, you persevered.

"perseverance" is a topic that lays heavy on my heart lately as caleb and i recently came out of hard times, and my parents seemed to fall right into the pit that we had just left behind.  through perseverance, prayer and many shoulders cried upon, the Lord prevailed and provided sustainment yesterday for my family!  just days before we celebrate the birth of our Christ, He makes his presence known and commands us to bow at His feet and thank Him for his graciousness, his allotment, his ability to always provide for us - all we have to do is persevere and know that His grace is sufficient for me.

may your season be merry and bright, and filled with all the glory of the Lord.
