the hamburger from H-E-double hockey sticks....

oh, so you noticed i didn't blog yesterday.... at all?!?!  i was, quite literally, feeling like i was on my death bed.  caleb and i both had food poisoning for the first time in either of our lives.  oh my, it was terrible...  so much time was spent in the bathroom (in various positions) and i couldn't help but pass out every time i sat down somewhere.

caleb came home from school early and had some medicine from medical - i took a little of his nausea medicine and it made me sooooo woozy and sleepy.  i was still working, but had come home to get some more rest.  i went back to work around 2pm to get the little girls from school and start shuttling around to gymnastics and speech therapy appointments.  i honestly have no idea how my body pulled through staying awake, but i managed it.  thankfully, today, my boss told me she would get the girls on the school bus so i could sleep in and rest during the day.  i need to get the girls off the school bus this afternoon, but then their older sister will keep an eye on them for the rest of the afternoon.

so, how did we get said food poisoning?  hamburgers.... and not from a restaurant - cooked right here on our own grill!! i had forgotten to thaw the hamburger meat overnight in the refrigerator, so i laid it in a sink full of cold water while i went to work (don't judge me - you've done it too!).  we've never ever had a problem doing this before, so i didn't think twice.  we felt fine after eating until about 3am when caleb started throwing up, and then i followed suit.... ugh.

well, enough of the grossness! i just wanted to say that while i was so completely out of it yesterday, i'm back today.  i have a giveaway winner to choose and some 30 day challenge posts to catch up on!

  1. I've thawed hamburger just sitting on the counter all day--yep. I've had food poisoning twice in my life. Once as a 5th grader (coleslaw in the hot lunch) and when I was 21--no, it wasn't from alcohol. Chicken wings--at a bar--haven't eaten them since. It is awful. I hope you feel better!!
