amelia's first christmas.... part one: the tree!

i've decided to chronicle amelia's adventures during her first christmas.  it should be a really fun experience!! first up - the christmas tree!!

about a month or so ago, i told caleb that we should wait until the week before christmas to procure a tree.  it would be less hassle with amelia - we could keep some of her bigger toys in our apartment and we wouldn't be constantly berating her for eating strings of lights or hoarding torn pieces of wrapping paper in her death gripped hands!  but alas, we broke down in the holiday spirit and bought a tree this past weekend.  we also decorated and wrapped gifts..... we live dangerously with our pre-toddler.

{looks like we picked out a real winner!!}

i'm still planning on making some christmas decorations this year to start some family traditions and introduce amelia to special decorations.  i'm going to make a fabric garland (pictures to come) and a wreath for the door.  but for now, here are some pictures of our current decorations and some favorite ornaments!!

  1. I may have to live vicariously through your child's first Christmas. For very complex and annoying reasons, I feel like we've been cheated out of Sofia's first Christmas. Your decorations are so pretty!

  3. I love your tree! I can't ever talk the hubbs into getting a real one, so we have a stupid fake one. NOTHING is like a real tree.

    BTW I REALLY love your entertainment stand. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it!!
