beached whale off the coast of tummy time....

it all started out simple enough.... i laid my crazy, yet oh so darling, daughter on her back and gave her a toy to play with. within 30 seconds, she is on her tummy. this happens all day long... and while she knows how to roll from tummy to back (i've witnessed this several times), she gets so frustrated and becomes fussy and starts slamming her head down and then it turns into an all-out screaming tantrum that she caused by rolling over..... oh my gravy, she has a temper.

so her newest "thing" is to roll onto her tiny tummy (maybe not tiny, she is 83rd percentile in weight.... don't judge) and fling her arms back behind her "superman style". then her feet come up off the floor and she just balances there on her belly.

{daddy's ears}
while hanging out with my friends marah and ashley yesterday, her superman belly balance became lovingly known as the "beached whale look". my poor baby! but that is exactly what it looks like when she lays there with her head and feet in the air at opposite ends of her body and no where to go.... my sweet little girl, already being picked on. did i mention that she's 83rd percentile for weight? yeah, she'll beat you up so don't laugh at her. just send her a big smooch and tell her she's a beautiful princess.

i mean, even the whale population has princesses, right?

  2. my 4 month old does the same thing, rolls onto tummy, plays for a minute then starts screaming until turns him back over even though he can do it himself. cracks me up, in more than one way.

  3. So cute! The little one I used to nanny did the same thing ... only she would get ANGRY when she was on her tummy doing this pose. And we called her an "angry starfish" with those five points up in the air, haha! Too precious!!
